If you’ve been a regular reader, you know that I’ve been on a fitness and self-love journey for many years now. You’ll also know that I’ve been known to HYPER FOCUS on my weight and food (to read more on that, go here) or that I tend to fall off the wagon because of burnout (to read more on that craziness, go here). I want to get out of my rut and get on track to a healthy lifestyle for the REST of my life. I’ve had success with Weight Watchers, the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide and Tone It Up. I love all of these for different reasons and they all have had major impacts on my life.
Going forward, I still plan to incorporate TIU workouts when I can because I will always have MAD LOVE for Karena and Katrina. I also love their nutrition guides because they allow you to get a little adventurous with your meals. I never tried chia pudding before until I joined them, and my pudding game will never be the same. I make a killer Espresso chia pudding inspired by their Chia Pick Me Up recipe and you can find the recipe for it here.
One big change will be that I’ll have a trained, certified and local fitness coach checking in with me weekly. I hired Team JM fitness, owned by Jesse Martin and Wanda Martin. They both used to compete and have amazing track records and success transforming people’s bodies. Jesse will give me weekly workout plans and helping me stay on track with my macro-nutrients or “flexible eating plan” as he calls it, that he’s seen major success with. Wanda will help with the motivation and girl talk when I need it, and I WILL need it.
Here’s what I know: I’ll check-in each Monday morning with my weight, how I’ve been sticking to my macros and my waist measurement. He and his wife will look over the data and tweak certain things to keep me going in the right direction. They will also be available to me for questions and motivation throughout the week.
One overwhelmingly great factor is that they put God first in everything that they do. I am looking forward to having my fitness journey prayed over and to succeed in reaching my fitness goals in order to honor the body God gave me.
Disclaimer: I am NOT spending a fortune on this. It’s actually VERY affordable. I’m also not committing to working out for 2 hours a day (EW!) or carrying food with me everywhere like you see some people do when they hire a coach (double EW!) I wouldn’t last pushing myself that hard (lookup BURNOUT in the dictionary). I’m not doing this for a fitness competition or to prove anything to anyone. I’m not doing this because I don’t like the results I’ve had with any of the programs I mentioned before. I’m doing this because I want to be in the best physical shape that I can be, for ME and I want to do it in a way that is best for ME. I am looking for that sweet spot between working out and living my life. Basically, I need BALANCE and I am hopeful that Team JM fitness will help me get there!
Expect a FULL review in 3 months with before and after pics, measurements and the whole run down.
